Does the Caged Singoz Sing? is a W-Tales story featuring Henrietta Hippo and Simon Singoz. It tells about the tale of Fluffington St. Bernard's plan to cage a Singoz and Henrietta's determination to stop him.

Summary[]

While Fluffington St. Bernard is taking a hike in the Kinzville Forest, he hears the sound of a Singoz, a harmonious species of Zingoz, singing nearby. Captivated by the song, he tries to catch it, but the Singoz sees him and runs off behind an "emerald-colored tree". Fluffington swears he will catch a Singoz, and begins scheming a plan.

A town meeting is called later, attended by many Webkinz, including Henrietta Hippo and her friend Leonard Lion. Fluffington appears on stage and offers one million Kinzcash in exchange for a captured Singoz. Everyone, including Leonard, is awestruck by the offer, but Henrietta is horrified. As soon as Fluffington begins the search, everyone rushes out of the building to the Kinzville Forest. Henrietta decides to find her friend, Simon Singoz, to help warn the other Singoz of the hunt.

Chapter 4 tells about how Henrietta meets Simon. Henrietta had met him when she became lost in the forest late one night. She heard his singing, leading her to his house. She found Simon and asked for help, and after Simon became trusting of her, invited her inside for a little while. Simon later gifts Henrietta a flashlight and leads her back to Kinzville, and became friends from then on.

Henrietta takes the flashlight and headed straight for Simon's tree stump house. She tells him about the Webkinz who are currently searching to capture a Singoz, and says the citizens of the Distant Zingdom need to be warned.

Simon leads Henrietta through the forest searching for the secret entrance, though he gets lost multiple times due to having never been back in the Zingdom for years. They reach one last tree, and Henrietta hurries Simon to remember the "magic words" to open the door as the Webkinz come closer. After a few failed attempts, Simon successfully recalls the "magic words" and both are able to enter the Distant Zingdom.

Henrietta and Simon warn the other Singoz of Fluffington's deal and the hunt. Unfortunately, the door to the Zingdom was left open and allowed the Webkinz mob to enter through it. Webkinz begin chasing the frightened Singoz, but were stopped by Simon's sudden high note. He tries to persuade the Webkinz to abandon Fluffington's offer, but the 'Kinz are unconvinced. The Singoz decide to harmonize together for the Webkinz, and Simon remarks how caged Singoz cannot sing. The Webkinz finally realize their wrongdoings, and decide to head home.

Suddenly, Fluffington rams his "speedy little car" through the entrance of the Zingdom and snatches Simon. Henrietta and the other Webkinz chase after him as he drives away. They are unable to catch up, but Henrietta goes forward, despite having left her flashlight behind. Once she reaches Fluffington's mansion, she crawls under the gates and sneaks up the driveway.

She finds Simon in a golden cage upon the front porch and proceeds to set him free. Unable to help himself, Simon begins to happily sing very loudly. This alerts Fluffington, who once again grabs Simon and places him back in the cage. He begins to demand Simon to sing, but Simon is unable to. Henrietta sets Fluffington straight, which surprises him, but makes him see the errors of his ways. He lets Simon go and apologizes, saying he only wanted to hear a Singoz sing. Simon then gets an idea for how Fluffington could.

The three open up a new theater: the Henrietta Hippo Theater, funded by Fluffington. Simon starts to hold performances there every night, becoming famous within Kinzville. Henrietta attends the show once a week, and Fluffington watches each night seated in a custom golden chair in the front row.
